The Law of Attraction and Me

Revolutioniz BannerI’ve always believed in the Law of Attraction. I believed in it before The Secret was published. It simply always made sense to me that we always get what we want out of life.

The trick is, of course, that we get what we really want instead of what we think we want. Want isn’t really the right word. It’s more that we get what we think we deserve, and what that actually is we reveal through our fears and our feelings of unworthiness. The whole concept of creating your own reality is much slipperier than it first appears.

Stuart Wilde said that we can all manifest anything we want, but it takes a lot of concentrated effort and time at first. This time lag is actually a protection for us. The more powerful people can manifest things much quicker, but if we could manifest things instantly, all we would manifest is our worst fears. Stu said you’d find a monster in your kitchen eating your lunch.

My efforts in internet marketing have been stuck in the mud of late. Even though I know how important it is to develop an alternate source of income when retirement is looming, the whole process of link-building and all the rest just seems like a dry-as-dust drag.

I had a sort of break-through this morning, and thought I would share it with you. Here’s a section from today’s entry in my journal.

Had an inspiration yesterday. Don’t know why. Has to do with why I can’t seem to get moving on this marketing stuff, really. Combines with The Secret.

Basically, I have been putting my mental focus in the wrong place. Instead of putting it on the actual mechanics of marketing, sniping etc, I should be focusing on the quality of life I want to have when I’ve succeeded in it. This is going meta. The old question of If you had that, what would it get you?

Thing is, doing anything on the net is hard work. There’s a lot to learn and it takes time. If the only point is to make money, it isn’t worth it. Even if the ultimate result is passive income, it still takes a lot of work to get to where you don’t have to work. Putting the focus on the meta-goal transforms all that work into a minor detail conceptually. Its just stuff you have to go through to get to where you want to be.

This ties in with what Joe Vitale and Loral Langemeier said in one of the Masters Gathering videos I watched. They said there: Say yes first, then figure out how. Doing it the other way round, ie not saying yes until you know how, leads to analysis paralysis when the problem is non-trivial.

According to the principles of attraction, it isn’t my job to figure out how. My job is just to be able to visualize what I want fully and completely. Once I do that, the universe will reveal the how, bit by bit or all at once. Once that has happened its just a matter of putting in the work to get from A to B.

If you’re fascinated by the Laws of Attraction/The Secret, there are a few developments in this area you need to know about. The first is Revolutioniz. These guys explain a lot of the science behind attraction and give a lot of the nuts and bolts knowledge you need to actually put it to use. You can get access to their stuff by clicking on the image at the start of this post. Even if you don’t buy in, they have some PDG ebooks you can download for free. (PDG=pretty damn good).

The other thing that is happening is something called The Masters Gathering. All the people from the Secret have gotten together to actively teach the Laws of Attraction in detail. Again, they have a lot of free stuff available that is worthwhile in its own right.

I really believe this stuff will help anyone who starts to use it. In todays world there are so many things to clean up. We want Washington cleaned up. The financial system needs to be cleaned up. And, of course, there’s the environment. But those things are all outside of us and therefore disempowering. On a personal level, the best thing to clean up is the space between our ears,  our ways of looking at the world and our place in it, and what we are entitled to. Nothing else will really make a difference to ourselves and our immediate circle of family and friends. The cavalry ain’t coming, brothers, we have to save ourselves.

  • I'll be 60 this year and I spent 30 of those years trying to get an unresponsive husband to love me. After a horrible divorce (that I did on the "chance" that I deserved SOMETHING else, not sure WHAT) I met and married THE man I'd always NEEDED. That was a welcomed change in MY life.

Now, I blog and wonder why. So I figured I'd MAKE SOME MONEY WHILE DOING IT. lol

Not to be. Oh, if you have hundreds of readers a day, maybe. DOOCE.COM has thousands of daily readers. (why? nothing there of any interest to ME) but she makes around $80,000 per month and was featured on 20/20 and DATELINE.

ME? I make about $80 a month and am happy for THAT much.

I enjoy reading a blog done by a thinker instead of a stinker. Thank you.

Glad you found your man, Dana. A good partner makes all the difference.

It is possible to make money blogging, but its too much work and takes too long for most people. Plus the money is in niche blogging, not personal.

All the best. Thanks for stopping by.
